The terms that apply to use of this website and to engagement of Rumi & Alder's design services.

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Rumi & Alder website (the "Website") and the purchase or engagement of any design services offered by Rumi & Alder ("we," "us," "our"). By accessing this Website or proceeding with a service engagement, you agree to be bound by these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your enquiry or service engagement will apply to that interaction.
You may use this Website for personal, non-commercial purposes — to learn about our services, read project information, and contact us. All other uses require our prior written agreement.
We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on this Website accurate and current. However, we do not warrant that any content — including service descriptions, pricing, or availability — is complete, current, or free of error. Pricing displayed is indicative and subject to confirmation at the time of enquiry.
All content on this Website — including text, layout, imagery, and design work — is the property of Rumi & Alder or its respective owners. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or adapt any part of it without written permission.
Where we link to external websites, we are not responsible for their content or practices. A link does not imply endorsement.
The following services are offered by Rumi & Alder. Detailed descriptions of scope and inclusions are provided on the Solutions page and in the written proposal issued at the start of each engagement.

Fees are exclusive of any third-party costs such as materials, furniture, contractor labour, and government permits unless explicitly stated otherwise in a written proposal. All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are subject to applicable taxes.
A service engagement begins when both parties have signed or exchanged written agreement on a project proposal prepared by Rumi & Alder. A verbal or informal agreement does not constitute a binding engagement.
Proposals are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to withdraw or revise a proposal after this period.
Payment schedules are set out in each project proposal. As a general guide:
Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless stated otherwise. Late payments may result in work being paused until the outstanding balance is cleared.
All payments should be made via bank transfer to the account details provided on the invoice. We do not accept cash payments for design services.
The Interwoven Design Package includes two rounds of revisions within the agreed scope. Requests that fall outside the original brief, or revisions beyond the included rounds, may be quoted and billed separately.
Scope changes — including changes to room areas, project type, or programme — will be discussed and agreed in writing before additional work begins.
To carry out our work effectively, we ask clients to:
Delays resulting from late client feedback or access restrictions may affect the project timeline. We will communicate any anticipated delay as soon as it becomes apparent.
Either party may cancel an engagement with written notice. In the event of cancellation:
Cancellation of a Thread Consultation must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled site visit to be eligible for a full refund.
Design drawings, mood palettes, specifications, and renders produced by Rumi & Alder remain our intellectual property until full payment has been received for the relevant service. Upon receipt of full payment, the client is granted a licence to use those deliverables for the purposes of their project.
We retain the right to document completed projects for our portfolio and promotional purposes, subject to client consent as described in our Privacy Policy.
Rumi & Alder provides design services with reasonable care and skill. However, we are not liable for:
Our total liability under any engagement is limited to the fees paid by the client for that engagement.
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these terms or a service engagement will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We will always seek to resolve disputes informally before pursuing formal proceedings.
